Although focused on the works developed at Iberia, the conference is open for submissions from any country in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ROBOT2022 will feature technical and social programs. The technical program will comprise plenary, regular and special sessions. All articles submitted for inclusion in the conference will be peer reviewed before acceptance. It is envisaged that all accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, which will be published by Springer \u2013 Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing Series, indexed by Thomson ISI Web of Knowledge and SCOPUS, subject to registration of at least one author for presenting the work. A selection of the conference-presented best papers will also be recommended for publication as extended versions in Special Issues from international top ranked Journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CONFERENCE SCOPE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite original contributions in all areas relevant to robotics, covering mobile, walking, flying, marine, underwater, and industrial robots. The conference will cover analysis (modelling and simulation) techniques, design approaches, and practical applications and realisations of developed robotic systems. Support technologies for realisation of such systems, namely sensors and actuators, computer vision and image processing, tactile &amp; haptics devices, control algorithms and architectures, localization, mapping and navigation, associated economic, ethical, legal and social considerations are integral part of the conference theme. Human-robot interaction, including medical robots, exoskeletons, prostheses and orthoses, as well as personal and service robots forms an increasingly active and important pertinent area. Each proposal should be limited to one A4 page in length and must include title, a brief description of the motivation and relevance of the session, name and affiliation of the organizer(s) and (if already available) the contacted authors and titles for tentative papers for the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SUBMISSION OF PAPERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The technical program of the conference will feature Regular Papers and Special Session Papers. Authors are invited to submit their full draft papers in PDF format from the paper submission page of the conference web-site by the indicated deadline for consideration for inclusion in the relevant category (special\/regular paper). Articles submitted for inclusion in the conference will be peer reviewed before acceptance. Final accepted papers will be limited to 12 pages and must follow the Springer AISC template, given in the Call &amp; Instructions web page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Best regular and student Paper Awards will be also selected by their respective committees judging technical merit, originality, potential impact on the field, clarity of the written paper, and quality of the conference presentation. Un resumen del proyecto y las lineas de investigaci\u00f3n asociadas es el siguiente:<\/p>\n<p id=\"x_docs-internal-guid-2ac076e3-7fff-820e-c0a5-25236617060c\" dir=\"ltr\">Oferta de 2 contratos predoctorales<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">El grupo de Rob\u00f3tica, Percepci\u00f3n y Tiempo Real ofrece dos becas predoctorales dentro del Proyecto ARDUA.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">El proyecto ARDUA<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">El proyecto ARDUA (Autonomous or semi-autonomous Robot Deployment for Underground Applications) tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de sistemas rob\u00f3ticos (terrestres y a\u00e9reos, aut\u00f3nomos y semiaut\u00f3nomos) para tareas de intervenci\u00f3n en entorno confinados y desafiantes como t\u00faneles, minas o cuevas.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Este tipo de entornos supone una serie de dificultades adicionales con respecto a los tradicionales como, entre otras:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Navegaci\u00f3n y localizaci\u00f3n: Los entornos pueden tener m\u00faltiples niveles, pendientes, bucles, callejones sin salida, terrenos resbaladizos, charcos de diferente profundidad, baches o barro. Adem\u00e1s, la visibilidad puede ser limitada y las superficies pueden tener pocos rasgos caracter\u00edsticos o una textura insuficiente, lo que puede dar lugar a importantes errores de localizaci\u00f3n y deriva si la misi\u00f3n se prolonga. Se asume que no hay posibilidad de utilizar los sistemas GNSS.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Comunicaci\u00f3n: La l\u00ednea de visi\u00f3n puede ser limitada (lo que a menudo implica la necesidad de una comunicaci\u00f3n multi-salto). La propagaci\u00f3n de la se\u00f1al depende de la topolog\u00eda del entorno y de los efectos de la variada geolog\u00eda en entornos subterr\u00e1neos, lo que impone un importante impedimento a la fiabilidad de las redes y los enlaces de comunicaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, necesidades como la teleoperaci\u00f3n imponen el requisito de la comunicaci\u00f3n en tiempo real.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">En este contexto, se ofrecen dos contratos predoctorales con el fin del desarrollo de dos tesis doctorales.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Contrato 1 &#8211; Comunicaci\u00f3n entre robots en entornos confinados y desafiantes<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">La comunicaci\u00f3n en ambientes confinados est\u00e1 ganando prominencia, como lo demuestra el creciente n\u00famero de publicaciones sobre este tema y el experimento llevado a cabo en los desaf\u00edos de DARPA. Sin embargo, son pocas las propuestas que se han aplicado y probado en estos entornos. En esta tesis, proponemos que el doctorando profundice en el estudio de la comunicaci\u00f3n ad-hoc entre robots heterog\u00e9neos (es decir, UAV y UGV), desarrollando nuevos protocolos capaces de garantizar una cierta cantidad de ancho de banda y al mismo tiempo apoyar la comunicaci\u00f3n multi-hop en tiempo real, la prioridad de los mensajes y la movilidad de los nodos. Este objetivo se lograr\u00e1 explorando la posibilidad de utilizar la reutilizaci\u00f3n espacial din\u00e1mica (aprovechando las caracter\u00edsticas de propagaci\u00f3n de estos entornos), considerando el uso simult\u00e1neo y sincronizado de diferentes tecnolog\u00edas y canales de comunicaci\u00f3n, y la multiplexaci\u00f3n por divisi\u00f3n en el tiempo. Adem\u00e1s, se investigar\u00e1n t\u00e9cnicas para posicionar \u00f3ptimamente los nodos de retransmisi\u00f3n, ya sea como robots voladores\/terrestres que act\u00faan como repetidores o como dispositivos f\u00edsicos alimentados por bater\u00edas desplegados por los propios robots, con el objetivo final de ampliar el alcance de las comunicaciones y hacer posible la reutilizaci\u00f3n espacial. Los protocolos y t\u00e9cnicas desarrolladas ser\u00e1n evaluados en escenarios del mundo real como minas y t\u00faneles.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Contrato 2 &#8211; Localizaci\u00f3n y navegaci\u00f3n multi-robots en 3D en entornos no estructurados y confinados<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">En esta tesis se propone el desarrollo de t\u00e9cnicas para el despliegue de robots con limitaciones de conectividad para escenarios 3D y equipos heterog\u00e9neos (UGV, UAV). Este despliegue convierte un escenario est\u00e1tico en uno din\u00e1mico, con consecuencias para la navegaci\u00f3n con evitaci\u00f3n de obst\u00e1culos. Se desarrollar\u00e1n t\u00e9cnicas de toma de decisiones coordinadas para el despliegue de robots m\u00faltiples para la navegaci\u00f3n basadas en el modelo DOVTS (Dynamic Object Velocity-Time Space) y en un modelo multi optimizaci\u00f3n de los criterios, considerando las restricciones kinodin\u00e1micas de los robots. Se analizar\u00e1n y calcular\u00e1n a partir del modelo las prioridades en la toma de decisiones de algunos robots respecto de otros, en funci\u00f3n del estado del entorno y de los comportamientos de los robots (por ejemplo, obst\u00e1culos est\u00e1ticos, trayectorias de otros robots, velocidades relativas, velocidades de corriente, distancia a los objetivos). Se aplicar\u00e1n t\u00e9cnicas de aprendizaje de refuerzo para la selecci\u00f3n de las estrategias de navegaci\u00f3n compartidas basadas en esas prioridades, a fin de proporcionar el mejor comportamiento en t\u00e9rminos de tiempo a los objetivos, tiempo de la misi\u00f3n y seguridad. Las t\u00e9cnicas ser\u00e1n evaluadas en escenarios reales, y se construir\u00e1n prototipos de demostraci\u00f3n para varios de ellos.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">El equipo<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">El equipo de trabajo del proyecto ARDUA tiene una dilatada experiencia en rob\u00f3tica de intervenci\u00f3n en entornos confinados y desafiantes. Est\u00e1 compuesto por Luis Montano, Danilo Tardioli, Jos\u00e9 Luis Villarroel, Paco Lera, Alejandro Mosteo y Luis Riazuelo.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">El esp\u00edritu que nos caracteriza es que un sistema rob\u00f3tico tiene que demostrar su funcionamiento y su eficacia en experimentos en entornos reales. This workshop seeks to discuss how to address challenges to the broader consumer-oriented development of social robots by finding meaningful ways to use the rich modalities unique to social robots in\u00a0<strong>creative content creation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Content in the form of apps has been the driving force in the success of smartphones. Similarly, in the gaming world, content dictates the adoption of gaming platforms. In this full-day workshop, we will focus on\u00a0<strong>creative content generation in the domain of social robotics, and the development of social robot apps that not only enhance functionality but also offer more engaging and entertaining interactive applications.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This workshop provides a venue for researchers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, including art, design, social science, robotics, and media studies among others, to\u00a0share and develop holistic and creative approaches to the development of social robotics creative content and applications. These can include apps for the robots themselves, but also connections between robots and smartphone and computer apps, and emerging blends of robotics and virtual and augmented reality.
